About me

Amy Suheidy Arreaga is an interdisciplinary artist, yoga instructor, and performer based in Ohlone land (also known as Oakland, CA).

Artist

Amy Suheidy is a sculptural and multimedia artist. Their 3-D work often explores the emotionality of personal and secondhand materials. Their 2-D work situates personal experiences of love and recovery within local and global contexts. Alongside a formal creative practice, Amy enjoys queering and feminizing Ohlone territory’s expansive graffiti scene.

Amy received a BA in Art Practice from the University of California, Berkeley. They are currently working on creating a font.

Yoga Instructor

Amy Suheidy is also a RYT-200 with Yoga Alliance. They began their teaching journey to give back the embodiment, aliveness, and and deep sense of joy that yoga has brought into their life. As a teacher, Amy aspires to help students drop more fully into their own bodies and minds through mindful alignment, steady pranayama practices, and guided meditation. Amy currently applies their teaching knowledge and experience in accessible and private classes. They look forward to teaching supportive settings such as transitional housing and rehabilitation centers that prioritize healing and resilience. They completed their 200-hour yoga teacher training at Folk Yoga School in San Francisco, CA in 2025.

Estrella the Performer

Estrella Star is Amy’s stage name. Estrella is proud to be part of the vast, exhilarating, and queer pole dancing community in the Bay Area, finding joy and solidarity in its energy and diversity. In 2026 they began doing drag as an additional way to express themselves and deepen connections within that community. Estrella primarily performs at fundraisers that support local community members, from transgender surgery funds to mutual aid efforts, focusing on events that give back. As a newer performer, Estrella enjoys testing new techniques, tricks, and playful gimmicks to thrill the audience and inspire generous tips.
